Dr. Baltazar Espinoza

About:

Baltazar Espinoza Cortes is a postdoctoral fellow at Arizona State University. He was born in Colima Mexico, where he got a bachelor's degree in Mathematics; and completed his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics for the Life and Social Sciences at Arizona State University under the mentorship of Dr. Carlos Castillo-Chavez.

Baltazar's research interests lie in the application of mathematical and computational models to study infectious diseases and population dynamics. He enjoys merging theory and computational tools that help on the understanding of such models.

He has participated five times in the Mathematical and Theoretical Biology Institute (MTBI) summer program, as a student and as a mentor.
