Welcome to Kellands Primary School. We hope you enjoy looking around our site and getting to know our school and community, and that our partnership together will be positive, beneficial and enjoyable.
Our vision for Kellands is that it is a place, ‘Where Everybody is Somebody’ and we put emotional wellbeing at the heart of learning. We inspire all to be Kind, Respectful and Responsible, developing confident individuals, lifelong learners and effective contributors. The school is at the heart of Inverurie and we hope that pupils take a sense of great pride from attending Kellands Primary and in turn contribute positively to the local context.
At Kellands Primary we have developed a strong and caring whole school community, which has helped us go from strength to strength. We are heartened to hear comments made from partners and visitors on finding a friendly warm ethos throughout the school, a strong ‘family’ feel, and a positive team spirit. Our thoughtful and supportive staff ensure our children are at the centre of everything we do and our learning environment takes account of the whole child and their mental and emotional readiness to learn. We actively engage our children through play, enquiry, risk taking and creativity taking account of the children’s interests, the local environment and global contexts.
We have been very well supported through our partnerships with partner providers, local businesses, parents and local organisations. We hope you find opportunities to support the school in ways you find interesting, meaningful and appropriate; becoming involved in school life as much or as little as you can. We greatly appreciate and need this continued support. Working together we want to ensure all our children believe in themselves and their abilities, aspire to be the best they can be, and enjoy learning so they can go on to achieve their dreams and goals.
If you have any questions or queries or would like further information please do not hesitate to contact the school by phone or by e-mail and we look forward to working together over the coming years and welcoming you to the Kellands family.

We want to help Parents/Carers understand how we teach children to read in school and how you can support reading at home. Our Reading Hub has been created just for this purpose. Visit the Hub for useful information, guidance, and resources.
To help keep every child safe, our school operates as a nut‑free environment. Some pupils and staff have severe nut allergies, and even tiny traces of nuts can trigger life‑threatening reactions. By staying mindful about what comes into school, we can work together to keep everyone healthy and included.
We kindly ask parents and carers to take extra care when preparing snacks and packed lunches. Nuts can often appear in foods you might not expect - chocolate spreads, certain cereal bars, pesto, baked goods, and “may contain nuts” products can all pose risks. A quick ingredients check really helps.
Our team takes allergy awareness seriously. Staff regularly complete CPD‑accredited allergy and anaphylaxis training provided by Kitt Medical, whose nationally recognised programme supports schools across the UK with high-quality training and resources. We also have a Kitt Medical Anaphylaxis Kitt on site, which includes emergency Adrenaline Auto‑Injectors and clear instructions designed to support rapid, confident action in an emergency.
Thank you for your support in keeping our school community safe.
In April 2023, a team of inspectors from Education Scotland visited our school and worked closely with our children, the SLT and staff, as well as talking to parents/carers and outside agencies that work closely with the school. You can read the Inspection Report, Summarised Inspection Findings (SIF) and Additional Inspection Evidence (AIE) documents here. These are also available from the Education Scotland website.
As always, we are immensely proud of our school and all of you that bring it to life.
