Today’s generation has developed a culture that differs from past generations. Every culture has its own system of etiquette and they are sometimes very different. Our future leaders, the youth of today, must be aware of what is expected of them in any situation, culture, or environment. Thus, exposure and information will be key to developing our young women and preparing them for success beyond high school. They need to know what to say and how to behave. They should be able to decipher that Etiquette is not just rules for proper dress or table settings, but a wide range of behavior that changes and adapts in response to societal changes.
The goal of the Training is to ensure the Debutantes will be able to conduct themselves properly in most social settings, understand the cultural and environmental forms of etiquette, and understand how their actions will be perceived by all who encounter them. The culminating event, The Debutante Ball and Scholarship Presentation, will be the commencement event for the process, thus allowing the Debutantes to showcase and display their acquired skills and knowledge. The Training will have the following four (4) objectives that relate to the purpose of the Debutante process:
Enhance Self-Esteem
Promote College and Career Preparation
Develop Style and Grace
Acquire Social and Cultural Etiquette
The following sessions will be conducted to meet the above objectives:
Session 1 - Sleepover Retreat
