Sage Forte

Fragility of nature and the redefining of preciousness lie hand in hand within these sculptural rings that can both live on a shelf, as well as on the body. This fragility of the insects incorporated in each piece limits the wearer's movement as well as draw intimate attention to the preservation of the natural world. Each ring uses silver as a vehicle to highlight the brilliance of the insects that the artist collected from different parts of the US and Costa Rica. In so doing, this work reconsiders what is labeled as valuable.
