My subject matter is my life. I see future paintings in all aspects of my life. For this series, I chose something that was originally another boring topic: work. Handling raw meat and fish for my whole adult life means that it was going to sneak its way into my art eventually. However, as the series went on into the current pandemic, my work doesn’t have the same energy and color it started out with.
