The Archer yearbook and the Antwerp broadcasting class are part of Quill & Scroll International Honorary Society for High School Journalists. We thought we were joining the organization for the first time in 2017, but we learned that the school has been a member since 1967. Quill & Scroll provides us with contest opportunities and possible scholarships for students entering a journalism related field.
In order to eligible for Quill & Scroll induction, yearbook staff members must meet all of the following criteria:
Be on staff at least two years
Maintain a 95% attendance rate
Have at least a 3.0 GPA
Earn at least 100 yearbook incentive points per semester
Participate in state and national contests
Attend at least one state or national convention per year
Students receive a pin and patch upon their induction. Students who are on staff at least two years and have at least 400 cumulative incentive points receive a yearbook letterman patch. Seniors will receive a blue and gold cord to wear at graduation.
