Project 2: Tissue Cover
Supplies:
Outer fabric - 5 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches flannel or cotton fabric
Lining fabric - 5 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches flannel or cotton fabric (Choose a lining that coordinates with the outer fabric as it will show)
Coordinating thread
Rotary Cutter and cutting mat
Travel pack of Kleenex
Seam allowance: 1/4 inch

Corners
Step 1:
Put the fabric right sides together and line up the short sides. Remember your lining is one inch longer than the outer fabric, so your lining won’t lay flat. Pin or clip to hold in place.
Step 2:
Sew down both short sides with a ¼ inch seam allowance. Make sure you backstitch at the beginning and end.
Step 3:
Turn fabric right side out. Center the outer fabric, so you have even edges of lining showing on both sides. Press with an iron.
Step 4:
Fold the outer edges into the middle so they are touching. The liner should be on the outside. Secure with pins or clips.
Step 5:
Sew across both the bottom and top with a ¼ inch seam allowance. Backstitch at the beginning and end.
Step 6:
Zigzag stitch the edges to keep them from fraying and clip the corners.
Step 7:
Turn right side out, push out corners, and trim any remaining threads. Fill with a pocket size tissue pack.
