Last November 9, the Student Council of APEC-Roxas, together with the APEC School Roxas staff and Kabataan Partylist-Pasay, implemented a donation drive for Typhoon Paeng and fire victims in Barangay 156. Students from APEC Roxas also contributed some goods, like canned goods, biscuits, and hygiene and medical kits. Donations were accepted until last Friday, November 11th.
The donation drive was pioneered by the APEC Schools Roxas Student Council among the school community. The collecting, repacking, and distribution of goods were organized by Kabataan Partylist-Pasay. All non-perishable goods are from different students and people, not only from APEC Schools Roxas. Moving along with the repacking of goods, a total of 18 students from APEC Schools Roxas joined to help the process. Together with several volunteers from Kabataan Partylist - Pasay, we accumulated 42 packs of non-perishable goods that will be distributed to Typhoon Paeng and fire victims of Barangay 156 in Pasay City.
Our first ever project was actually a roller coaster ride; it was a mix of gratitude as we were able to help those in need as a whole, empathy towards the people, and disappointment. The main conflict in this project is not the amount of goods or expenses; rather, it’s us. We were rushing the project because the situation demanded a sense of urgency—obviously due to the recent disaster—and that is why we announced it without waiting for approval from higher ups.
If you are part of the Student Council, you know that a project needs a closer evaluation in order to be approved, and that slipped our minds. We did not even manage to create a project proposal for it. And of course, every action has consequences. We received a notice from the school principal that we did something against the rules. On the other hand, they assured us that the project is a very good idea and will actually make an impact. We are aware that there are factors that we need to consider that are to be discussed among the higher ups. With that, we waited until the project was officially approved
Now that the project has been approved, we only have two days to collect non-perishable goods from the students and people. This is the part that we are literally bothered by and uncertain about. We all know for a fact that two days are only a short span of time, and the last day is a Friday, meaning no onsite classes for all grade levels.
Moving forward with the repacking day, we were surprised with how much we gathered in just two days. We are beyond grateful to everybody who supported this project; words cannot express how grateful we are.
Behind this successful project are the people who contributed. First, there is the repacking of goods at Marillac Center in Pasay City, which is done in collaboration with volunteers from Kabataan Partylist-Pasay, and volunteers from APEC Schools Roxas and its Student Council. This was implemented on November 11, with a total of 23 participants.

The distribution of goods takes place at Barangay 156 in Pasay City, together with Kabataan Partylist - Pasay and the APEC Schools Roxas Student Council and students. Special thanks to the people of Barangay 156 for supporting this project.
We would also like to express our gratitude to our APEC Schools Roxas Staff, School Principal, Deputy Adviser, and Operations Coordinator for contributing and making this project possible. We would not reach this far without these people. We are grateful to Kabataan Partylist - Pasay for letting us participate in their project by donating and helping. The Kabataan Partylist - Pasay organized everything from repacking to distribution.
To sum it up, the donation drive that APEC Schools Roxas (student council and staff) and Kabataan Partylist - Pasay has been successful in reaching those who are in need. Beautiful smiles will be seen on everyone's faces, representing their satisfaction and appreciation.
