APEC Schools recently celebrated its 9th Foundation Day on September 24, 2022. Online classes are still implemented this 1st Quarter, so students of APEC Schools- Roxas have only celebrated via Google Meet during their Homeroom schedule with a friendly competition between students.
The theme was “APEC Shines @ 9”, and students were tasked to present 9 things they can do “to shine” in APEC this school year as part of the event’s activities. For the only section in the 7th grade, 3 exhibitions were given; a poster, a digital drawing, and an original composition of lyrics, with SEVENTEEN’s “_WORLD” as the background music. The last performance mentioned has won the certification of Best Output.
For this occasion, the 8th graders were more inclined toward writing in the Padlets provided. The school's gratitude wall, which can be seen in Padlet, is filled with sincere messages coming from the students’ hearts to thank every staff member for making our school achieve another new school year and make more milestones. There are also expectations they’d love to have soon with our school’s prodigy. They also had photo-ops using APEC's 9th Foundation Day virtual background design.
Singing bee was also held during the celebration of Grade 9 students to see who was truly prepared for different song trends and genres. In addition, they also had a scramble game that showed how quickly they can familiarize themselves with the exact word shown. They also conversed about their experiences as APEC students so far.
Students from 10th grade celebrated APEC Schools Foundation Week by playing a game called "Rebus Puzzle." The students captured the joy and excitement of that day. It was a great chance for students to have a little break from their school activities. It was a close call for the students who joined and participated in the game. It was easy and hard—but in the end, one student won the game and received a GCash from their class adviser.
On the other hand, Grade 11 students did interesting activities as they celebrated APEC Foundation Week. These are mini-games that have students guess a song that plays, a quick beatbox freestyle from their classmate John Howard, and a conversation with their class adviser for the rest of the time.
Last but not least, Grade 12 students had their celebration with activities such as Tik-Tok videos, reels, and posters that answered the question, "What makes you shine?" Amazing, isn't it?
The quick celebration was truly great for both students and learning facilitators. In a short time, it gives them the opportunity to enjoy and relax. Everyone misses face-to-face classes when Foundation programs would have always been held on school grounds. Similarly, every foundation day in every school is important for every student, authority, and parent to appreciate the school's lessons taught to their children, or even their legacy, for more events and serving the community's future for the youth.
