February 18, 2023 was marked as the last day of APEC Roxas Fun Week 2023. Students from all grade levels participated in some particular games and events throughout the week. On the start of Culminating Day, each team was introduced with a parade. The first to be announced are the Blue Hawks, followed by the Orange Panthers, the Gray Hounds, and as well as the White Wolves. Followed by this parade were the short prayer, the national anthem, and the APEC hymn. And of course, a fun week wouldn’t be complete without the lighting of the torch that was performed by the Student Council President, Ariel Mariano.
To energize and let the students gain their inner spirit, Learning Facilitators, or the "BO6 E-Force," created a Zumba for all. One of the Zumba routines they performed was the "Girl in the Mirror." After the tiring yet wake up call from Zumba for all the participants, they also heard the remarkable speech coming from APEC Roxas Dear Principal, Mr. Zoilo Reyes. According to him "I’m really excited for the battle of the 3rd, the championship (volleyball, basketball) and of course unang una yung cheerdance natin. I hope everyone is ready, let’s get ready to rambol!". Afterwards, APEC Roxas Fun Week participants first take an oath of Sportsmanship that was led once again by APEC Roxas SC President, Ariel Mariano.
For the battle of the third in volleyball, Team Grayhounds and Team Orange Panthers met. The game went off without a hitch, and the Orange Panthers were declared the winners. On the other hand, for the championship round of volleyball, Team White Wolves vs. Team Blue Hawks was in line. Contrary to what happened during the Battle of the Third, the game of the said group was breathtaking and intense, as both teams really showed how it should be done. The audience felt the tension between the two teams as they gave each other a point advantage. Although it was a close fight between the two teams, the White Wolves still managed to claim the throne as champion.
Moving on from the tension where APEC Roxas participated during the volleyball championship, the battle of the third for basketball began. Team White Wolves vs. Team Orange Panthers once again competed against each other to claim their throne as 2nd place. Both teams showed their overall best and might as well teamwork to claim a point. But, at the end, Team White really strives to be second, and that led the Panthers to be third. Moreover, basketball wouldn’t be complete without a champion. The championship round was completed by Team Gray Hounds vs. Team Blue Hawks. Both teams really did their overall best to steal and shoot the ball on each base of their opponents. It was an intense yet smooth fight for both teams, and in a blink of an eye, the Blue Hawks basketball boys proved themselves to be the champions, while the Gray Hounds basketball boys accepted first place with pride and joy.
After the intense battles in the balls, it is time to show off how beautiful and charming APEC Roxas students are. Candidates from each team had their introduction during the start of the pageant. Blue Hawks’ pride: Dustin Kyle Rivas and Natalie Baes; White Wolves’ charm: Princess Mikayla Baruiz and Adriel Hideki Mata; Orange Panthers’ shine: Ma. Rey Ann Kate Porciuncula and Mario Vincent Bobis; and last but not least, Gray Hounds’ light: Jesha Mae De Mesa and Arvin Clien Valencia. These candidates compete through their sportswear, Q and A portion, and their final ramp. Throughout those sets of stages, candidates showed that they’re not just beautiful. They are a student, a model, an advocate, and the pride of APEC Roxas. At the end, Mr. and Ms. APEC Roxas were owned by the Gray Hounds’ Jesha Mae De Mesa and the White Wolves’ Adriel Hideki Mata.
To add on, special participation was made by Maui Rodriguez, Daniela Quiambao and Micky Quiambao. Moreover, after the intense fight followed by the magical set of candidates in Mr. and Ms. APEC Roxas, a set of students deserves to also be recognized. An awarding ceremony was implemented to recognize the hard work of each team and its participants. Teams starting from third place to champion were called one by one in front. Special games participants also claim their recognition on the stage. Last but not least, the overall champion for APEC Roxas Fun Week 2022–2023 was given to Team White Wolves.
At the end of the day, all have beautiful smiles on their faces and champions of their own team.
