Junior Visual Arts

Course Overview: In this practical half-year course, you will try your hand at drawing, painting, sculpture, design, or printmaking while exploring art from established artists. You will build new skills, experiment with fresh ideas, and experience the reward of watching your creations come to life. 

Equipment/Stationery:  A3 spiral-bound sketchbook, pack of drawing pencils, eraser and sharpener, glue stick

Recommended Prior Learning: No prior learning needed

Assessment Information: Each assessment will be sketchbook-based.

Next Steps: Students can progress to Year10 Art. (10ART)

Course Overview: This practical course introduces you to a variety of art-making processes, including drawing, painting, printmaking or sculpture. You will explore ideas and develop creative skills through practical projects inspired by Aotearoa and international artists. This is a half-year option course.

Equipment/Stationery: A3 spiral-bound sketchbook, pack of drawing pencils, eraser and sharpener, glue stick

Recommended Prior Learning:  No prior experience needed

Assessment Information: Each assessment will be sketchbook-based.
