Course Overview: Mathematics and statistics explore patterns in quantities, space, time, and data to help students model and interpret their world. This study develops creative, critical, strategic, and logical thinking skills. Designed around Curriculum Levels 4 and 5, this Year 9 course consolidates primary school foundations while establishing the logical reasoning required for future mathematical success. Students will cover four core areas: Number, Geometry & Measurement, Algebra & Relations, and Statistics & Probability.
Equipment/Stationery: Chrome book or laptop, calculator, 1B5 exercise book, pen, pencil and ruler.
Recommended Prior Learning: This compulsory, full-year course for all Year 9 students builds directly upon prior primary school learning.
Assessment Information: Progress is measured via start-and-end-of-year standardised testing, alongside comprehensive end-of-term topic tests.
