Sapana Doshi, PhD (she/they) - Sapana Doshi, is a mind-body teacher committed to healing, justice, and liberation from the personal to the global. Her work bridges many worlds: academia and activism, meditation and dance, body and spirit. As a professor of Critical Race and Ethnic Studies at the University of California, Merced, she researches and teaches on global capitalism, body politics, and social mobilization. Her university teaching integrates social justice analysis with embodied pedagogy as an alternative to alienating and oppressive paradigms of higher education. Sapana is also trained as a facilitator of two embodiment and conscious dance practices: The 360 Emergence and Open Floor. In 2024, she founded Freedom Dance Collective which offers movement meditation for People of the Global Majority (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) in Oakland, California.
