Please join MeHee Hyun, Kirsten Grimstad, & David Tripp for a Messy Conversation on Educational Foundations on the LA Campus.
MeHee Hyun, Ph.D. is core faculty and co-chair for Undergraduate Studies at Antioch University Los Angeles. She also serves as co-chair of the University Academic Council and Dean of Undergraduate Studies for Antioch. Her doctoral work at UCLA focused on college students' commitment to racial understanding and included an emphasis on Afro-American Studies.
Kirsten Grimstad, Ph.D. is professor and co-chair for Undergraduate Studies at AULA. The focus of her current project, The People’s Guide to Berlin, examines the role of grassroots civic activism in establishing a sense of public awareness of and accountability for the murder of the Jews of Europe. How the Germans have faced up to their racist national history holds lessons for us for confronting the legacy of white supremacy that we are grappling with now.
David Tripp, Ph.D. taught at USC, CSULA, Southwest CC, and Glendale CC before teaching his first course at Antioch in the summer of 1989 and he's been here ever since. He served as chair of the BA program (1998-2002) and was the Founding Director (1999) of the Bridge Program. Always passionate about teaching and suffering from an "infinite curiosity problem," over the years he has designed over 40 courses or workshops for undergraduate students.
