Gwendolyn King, MPH LMT CPT Birth Worker, is a grassroots organizer in South Los Angeles and an itinerant yogi. She conducts fieldwork on PanAfrican sexual health and sustainable agricultural practices. Additionally she is engaged in various aspects of the arts including art photography, film, video, and curating experiences for local artists.
Raja Michelle is a student, facilitator, speaker and educator focused on the understanding and practices of the Self and the System. She is the founder and former executive director of The Tree South LA, a worker owned cooperative community wellness space in the heart of South Los Angeles. Raja founded The Tree to address the lack of health equity and wellness programs available at the time to the South LA community. The Tree opened it’s doors in January 2013 and in the years it's been open, The Tree has trained 135 yogis of color, served over 50,000 residents regardless of income. Raja Michelle is currently working on her Masters in Urban Sustainability from Antioch University LA. She has a BA, E-RYT, ITW graduate and a former intern at Deer Park Monastery.
