The Alpha Course

Alpha and Youth Alpha, starting April 2024

Youth Alpha

Who's it for? Anyone in school years 6-13 who would like to find out about the Christian faith or grow deeper in their own faith.

What's involved? It's informal and conversation-based with engaging videos and open to anyone whatever their beliefs. A great opportunity to explore the bigger questions in life.  We meet for just under two hours, with food and drink to enjoy.

When does it start? Sunday 28th April, 6pm. Weekly until 30th June. There is away day on Saturday 15th June instead of the session on 16th when we get to spend a bit more time together looking at some topics in greater depth.

What else do I need to know? Some people in the group will be getting confirmed (making a commitment to their faith that 'confirms' their baptism promises, often made for them as babies). The confirmation service will take place in Alcester on 21st July 2024 with the Acting Bishop of Coventry. Anyone in the group might like to consider whether this is something they want to do. However, taking part is open to everyone whether or not this is a step they feel ready to take.

What do parents need to know? There will be two DBS-checked and safeguarding-trained adults at each session.  We will expect you to make your own appropriate arrangements for getting to and from the sessions which will take place in Alcester (location tbc), and for telling us anything we need to know about medical conditions or food allergies.

How do I sign up? Email or call Revd Daniel Corlett daniel.corlett@alcesterminster.org 07599 647324 with the name of the young person, and for under-18s, details of a parent/guardian who we can contact for permissions etc.

Alpha for adults

When is it? Starts Tuesday 30th April, 7.30pm, weekly until 9th July, with an Away Day on Saturday 15th June.

Where does it take place? The Alcester Inn, St Faith's Road, B49 6AQ
