Listen to this story about Splat the Cat.
Afterwards, look on your bookshelf and in your room to see if you still have any library books at home. If you find any, ask an adult to return them to the school. They can drop the books in one of the two big boxes at gate 1.

After listening to the story, walk around your home and find an object, such as a hat or a pot.Then find another object in the house that rhymes with the name for that object. Draw and write your rhyming words.
At the end of the story, Norman ends up being the perfect pet.

In the story, the mouse puts together a pile of small, empty books that he creates out of white paper and staples.
Now you will create your own book. Cut a sheet of a white paper into squares and staple the pages together to make a book.
Think of something that you might write in your book about family, pets, a space story, a cowboy story, a superhero story or anything else that you can think of. You can add drawings too.

As you listen to the story, try to remember the things that will happen in the spring. After the story, take a piece of paper and number from one to four. Answer the question.

Spring is starting now! Think about which of those things might happen in your neighborhood.
Print the handout. Use a black marker to draw eyes, nose, and mouth, then decorate with colors. If you don't have a printer, use a black marker to draw an oval to make your face first.
