His words as they overlap hers,
She looks up to catch his gaze
But his thoughtless ignorance catches his attention.
She opens her mouth only to find the emptiness it has to give according to him
The embarrassment touches her unwillingly and slithers through her skin-
Anyways,
She’d like to say she fights it,
The slithering, slicing, sheathing words that cover hers’
But she can’t move under his thinly thought observations
thrown at her like scraps given to a dog.
Like she barked out of line and he needs to tame her not to talk-
Remarks he says randomly but that she doesn’t take easily
As they circle her head, make her dizzy-
Anyways,
Like a lion jumping through a hoop,
Something so majestic being so controlled
All that is left to do is jump through the hole
That drives her to give more-
Anyways,
At last, she put the knife in his hand
As tears rolled down her face
he dug into her heart
Blood stained his beautiful skin
But she was happy
Because red was his favourite colour
Right?
Like the trainer who awarded the lion with its poisoned treats,
There was no escape to the endless cycle of puppeteering as
He used her broken pieces
To try to put himself back together
You can’t fix what’s already broken
Can you?
She was so beautifully broken.
The sorrow in her eyes
Told a million stories
But the smile told a million lies.
Anyways,
What were you saying?
