Course Description: Principles of Biomedical Science year 1 aims to describe how medical professionals handle crime scenes, hospitals, and emergency response. Topics such as blood analysis, DNA profiling, the spread of disease, and emergency medicine are covered in this course. Students should be prepared to take notes daily, submit 3-4 weekly assignments, and learn to use complex software. Students should be fast learners, strong self-advocates, and show leadership qualities.

Course Description: Human Body Systems is the 2nd year course in the PLTW - Biomedical pathway. Students interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare field should take this course. Students will learn about the interconnectedness of the human body and a multitude of body systems, some of which include the skeletal system, muscular system, respiratory system, nervous system, and urinary system. Students will independently progress through the course with hands-on activities and dissections that will be facilitated by the instructor.

Course Description: Medical Interventions is the 3rd year course in the PLTW - Biomedical pathway. Students interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare field should take this course. This is a lab class where students will learn about the multitude of interventions that are used to diagnose, treat, and prevent disease. Students will independently progress through the course with hands-on activities and labs that will be facilitated by the instructor.

Course Description: Biomedical Innovations is the 4th year course in the PLTW - Biomedical pathway. Students interested in pursuing a career in the research sector of any science-related field should take this course. This is a research course where students create and conduct experiments to answer real world problems, with a final poster presentation that consists of the student's own individual research done throughout the year.
