Course Description: This course is designed for all incoming high school students. Lessons will be targeted at building routines, sportsmanship, principles of physical fitness, sports, and wellness that will prepare them for future physical education courses. Students will participate in activities designed to increase their likelihood of exercising in the future. Students will understand the benefits that regular exercise can provide for a person’s mental, physical, and social health.

Course Description: This course is designed to guide students through basic risk management and disease prevention. Emphasis will be placed on care and prevention techniques such as nutrition, exercise, sleep, and stress management as they relate to different body systems. Students will develop an appreciation for living a healthy lifestyle and use decision making skills to set goals for life-long health. This course also includes an introduction to learning about the different types of healthcare providers.
