KS4 PE

Across both Year 10 and 11, students will complete a BTEC Level 2 Award in Sport. This qualification offers an extension to the KS3 PE programme and provides students with the opportunity to develop a wider knowledge.

What is covered?

Unit 1 Fitness for Sport and Exercise

Unit 2 Practical Sport Performance

Unit 3 Training for Personal Fitness

Unit 6 Leading Sports Activities

How is it assessed?

Assessment and content of the course will be structured in a practical approach as much as possible and although there is no external final exam at the end of the course covering all units, there is an externally assessed ‘controlled assessment’ linked to Unit 1 Fitness for Sport and Exercise. This will take the form of an online exam. The other three units will be assessed internally, through assignments issued at regular intervals throughout the course by the teaching staff.
