Our Remarkable Curriculum
Tamworth Enterprise College is a successful, high-achieving, secondary school where everyone is given the opportunity to do their best, whatever their background or ability.
We are committed to providing a rigorous yet inclusive curriculum which challenges our students to reach their full potential. This will empower our students to gain success in any field and will play an instrumental role in closing the gap for disadvantaged students.
Our curriculum offer is driven by a strong moral purpose. We are proud of our provision for children with special needs.
On entry, students’ attainment levels are used to place them in teaching sets for all subjects except for PE. These sets are reviewed throughout the year and changes are made based on the students' progress, interim assessments and teacher judgements.
Student progress is monitored through informal and formal assessment in each curriculum area, and parents are kept informed through regular effort and progress checks.
The curriculum is further strengthened by a variety of intervention and support strategies to ensure that the curriculum is relevant and accessible for all students.
The vertical tutor group system, together with a huge variety of extracurricular activities enhances the learning process and contributes hugely to the strong community spirit in the school.
The Accelerated Reader Scheme from Renaissance Learning is used in Years 7 to 9 to improve reading.

Admissions
Academies Enterprise Trust is the admissions authority for Tamworth Enterprise College. AET Admissions Guidance is available here.
Applications for places at the academy will be made in accordance with Staffordshire Local Authority’s co-ordinated admission arrangements. They will be made on the Common Application Form and administered by the the applicant’s home Local Authority.
Tamworth Enterprise College has an agreed admission number of 180 pupils. Tamworth Enterprise College will accordingly admit at least 180 pupils in the relevant age group each year if sufficient applications are received. Tamworth Enterprise College will participate in Staffordshire LA’s In Year Fair Access Protocol.

Enrichment and Trips
Our Fantastic Facilities
Our £1,000,000+ investment in sport this year has allowed our students and community to engage in their passions and abilities. Our new state-of-the-art Premier League artificial 3G football pitch has been an incredible success with students and the surrounding community. The Pitch has been designed with the same dimensions as Wembley stadium and has official approval from the FA in its grade quality.
Our Swimming pool is currently having a new roof so our students can love their PE lessons for years to come. The pool is used for Physical Education and for life saving lessons delivered to year 7s on their arrival to Tamworth Enterprise College.
We also have an incredible multi purpose indoor sports hall to encourage students to participate in a wide variety of sports. Basketball, Badminton, Volleyball, Dodgeball and much more. Outside there is a multi purpose outdoor play area used for sports such as Netball and Tennis this can also then be used for break/lunchtime activities.
