Involving parents and pupils in assessing/ reviewing progress

Reviews are held annually for pupils who have an EHCP (Education Health and Care Plan). These reviews are pupil-centred and students are invited to contribute along with their parents/carers.

Pupils who are identified as requiring SEND Support have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) drawn up. These identify students' needs, list specific strategies to enable the student to access the curriculum and identify a number of specific targets so that progress can be monitored and measured.

The IEPs are reviewed regularly with students and parents; their targets are discussed and thoughts recorded ensuring that pupils are involved in their education.
