At Hamford Primary Academy, we believe every child is unique and brings their own special qualities to our school. We are committed to creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where all children—whatever their needs—can learn confidently, feel valued, and reach their full potential.
We understand that some children may need extra support during their learning journey. At Hamford, we are proud to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) through personalised approaches that help them thrive both academically and emotionally.
Early Identification: We closely track each child’s development and progress to identify any needs as early as possible.
Tailored Support: Support is adapted to suit each child. This might include individual or small group work, targeted interventions, or additional classroom support.
Dedicated SENDCo: Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo), [Name], works with staff, families, and professionals to ensure every child receives the right support at the right time.
Inclusive Classrooms: Teachers use a range of teaching styles and resources to make lessons accessible and engaging for all learners.
Working in Partnership
We believe in strong partnerships between home and school. Parents and carers know their children best, and we value your insights. Together, we’ll agree on the best ways to support your child, and you’ll be involved in regular reviews of their progress.
We also work with a range of external professionals—such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists—when needed.
Hamford is a fully inclusive school. We work hard to remove barriers to learning and make sure all children feel safe, supported, and part of our school community. Our building and facilities are accessible for children with physical disabilities or medical conditions.
If you’d like to talk about your child’s needs, or find out more about SEND at Hamford, please get in touch with our SENDCo, Mrs Ketley, through the school office or by emailing dketley@hamfordprimaryacademy
