Computing Curriculum Intent
At Hamford, we lead and deliver a high-quality computing education that utilises new technology in a socially responsible and safe way in order to equip pupils to use computational thinking and creativity to understand the wider global community and act as responsible digital citizens
Our Curriculum
At Hamford, the knowledge in the Computing curriculum is broken down into five key strands:
Staying Safe Online
Multimedia
Handling data
Technology in our lives
Programming
The Early Years and Key Stage 1 programme is designed to start with children’s basic computing skills and understanding of how to use the internet safely.
At Key Stage 2, children build on these fundamental ideas to apply their computing knowledge to the real world: focusing on how these skills can be used in different programmes and platforms.
