Our Curriculum
At Hamford the teaching of DT is categorised into three areas; design and technology, textiles and food and nutrition. Within these the skills are clearly set out for each year group to ensure progression is made as children move through the school.
A DT unit is structured as follows:
Research and evaluate existing products
Plan and design product - looking at materials and tools needed and specific methods
Practice method
Make product
Evaluate product
Make any adaptations if necessary
