Modern Foreign Language
MFL Curriculum Intent
Through an immersive journey, our pupils will build their knowledge, skills and passion for languages that inspire them to lead a remarkable life. Learning a foreign language is a necessary part of being a member of a multi-cultural society and provides an opening to other cultures. At Hamford we strive to foster children’s curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world. This enables children to aim higher.
Our Curriculum
At Hamford, we use the ilanguages scheme. French is taught weekly in years 3 to 6 by the class teachers. All French work is collated into a French book which moves through the school with the children. This then becomes an invaluable resource in later school life. Work in French books is dated in French and it is marked in both French and English with a comment key available in the front of every book.
