All pupils in Year 7 to 9 will be set weekly homework on Sparx which will enable them to complete revision and consolidate the learning they have undertaken in their English, Maths and Science lessons.
Regularly completing homework throughout school has been shown to increase final grades, to clarify misconceptions and to build upon existing knowledge. It is important that students start to develop these habits at KS3 to prepare them for the rigour and expectations needed to be successful when they complete their qualifications at the end of KS4.
To help support all of our students at the academy there is a homework club available for all pupils in the library from 15:10-16:10 Monday-Thursday where computers are available and expert teachers are on hand to help pupils with their homework. These homework apps can be downloaded onto a phone, laptop or computer. These apps are supported by AI which adapts the difficulty to the needs of your pupil, including any special educational needs, to ensure work is accessible whilst still being challenging.
Please support your child’s education by encouraging them to complete their homework either at home, or in homework club using this excellent technology. Additionally, having frequent conversations with your child about what they have been studying in Sparx Maths or Science, or what they are reading in Sparx Reader will help us develop a robust and beneficial homework platform for every child at KS3.
Please ensure you login using your email so that you can track your child’s progress:
