2YXW - Art and Design
2Z28 - Chemistry
2Z2C - Design and Technology
2Z2F - English
2Z2H - Geography
272Y - MFL
2734 - PE
All Schools Direct unsalaried:
We offer these places through Essex Teacher training - please see the website - www.essexteachertraining.co.uk for more details. (To apply for a place you will need to use UCAS and use the codes above, and ‘C’ for Clacton Coastal Academy - you will then be invited to an interview in school.)
This involves being placed with us for the majority of your training, other than a six week placement in another school. (You would have around one day out a week at Essex getting additional training). The great thing about this is it gives you a chance to really get to know the students, staff and school in which you are working. We offer a fantastic range on in house support and training, and our trainees go on to find successful employment, either with us or within other schools.
You have access to an in school mentor and an external mentor (linked to you by Essex) and also the support of other members of staff within your department and those who are also training in the Academy.
We are also lucky enough to work with NETT - please see website for more details - www.nett.org.uk and offer both first and second placements with them. Again, you have access to our in school training, an in school and external mentor, and training days from NETT.
We always happy to support with work experience or volunteering opportunities - if you want to find out if teaching is for you, it might be the perfect way to find out!! If you can offer a day a week, or you want to come in for a day or two to see what it is really like then send an email to the address below, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you within the department you would like to see.
