Nursery Specialist Resource Base
Welcome from Mrs Robson - Assistant Headteacher, Inclusion Lead
At Beacon Primary Academy, we envision a world where every child, regardless of their abilities or challenges, has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential. Our school is dedicated to creating an inclusive, nurturing, and empowering learning environment that embraces the uniqueness of each pupil.
What is our Specialist Nursery?
At Beacon Specialist Nursery we have space for 12 children who have been identified by Leicestershire County Council as needing a specialist nursery setting to support their early education and development. When the children are recommended to the setting they do not have to have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in place but they will have received support from the Early Years Inclusion Team and/or other SEND specialists. During their time in our Specialist Nursery it is likely that the SENCO will put in an application for an EHCP in collaboration with the children's families and other supporting professionals.
Daily Provision
The children attend the specialist nursery for two full days per week. There are 6 places each day. Nursery is open Monday-Thursday. The children are supported by highly trained staff to develop their early learning , development and play skills. The staff in the specialist nursery work closely with a range of specialist services to ensure the best provision for the children.
Teams that work closely with the nursery include:
Early Years Inclusion Team
Vision and Hearing Impaired Teams
Educational Psychologists
Speech and Language Therapists
Occupational and Physiotherapy Teams
