Welcome to the Year 6 team! 

We are excited to introduce ourselves as a passionate and dedicated team who work tirelessly together to create a supportive and engaging learning environment. Our class is called Class Osprey. Mrs. Potter, our class teacher, along with Miss Reeves, Mrs. Woodford, and Mrs. Powell, are committed to fostering curiosity, creativity, and academic growth in all our students.  

Whilst the Key Stage 2 assessment tests are a big focus in Year 6, we prepare thoroughly for them through our curriculum. We study a range of fiction books such as Wonder, Holes (Mrs Potter's personal favourite) and The Windrush Child to name but a few. These books help compliment some of our foundation subjects of The Maya, Ethiopia, Climate Change and Sikhism. In Science, we study Electricity, Classification of Living Things, Light and the Circulation System.  We are also lucky to have termly visits from the Science Department at Woodbrook Vale who help prepare the children for science at secondary school.

The Summer Term is amazing in Year 6. After we have finished with the SATs, we prepare our school play for the rest of the school and we get to go swimming in our amazing pool! 

Be prepared to have some challenges but be prepared to have some fun as well!!
