Welcome to Year 2 at Beacon Academy! In Year 2, we have an exciting time embarking on an exciting journey of learning and discovery. We will build on our reading and writing skills, explore different types of texts and learn how to write with more detail and creativity. In maths, we tackle concepts like addition and subtraction with larger numbers, learn about shapes, and begin understanding time and money. Science lessons introduce us to the wonders of the natural world, including plants, animals, and basic physical forces.  

In Year 2 children will either be in Chestnut class with Mrs Sohal and Mr Lager or Willow class with Miss Harvey. 

Year 2 is a year where curiosity is encouraged, and every lesson brings something new to discover, making Beacon Academy a place full of joy and anticipation.
