If you are thinking of applying for a place for your child either in our nursery or school, please contact our office on 01509 212227 to arrange a tour.

We are responsible for admissions to our nursery except for our Specialist Provision places which are allocated via a panel.  All other admissions to the school are processed centrally by Leicestershire County Council's School Admissions Team.

Admissions During the School Year

Admissions during the school year or in September to year groups other than Reception are all referred to as ‘in-year applications’. For these, you need to apply via the Leicestershire County  Council’s website – www.leicestershire.gov.uk/education-and-children/schools-colleges-and-academies/school-admissions or ring the admissions team on 0116 305 6684

Before all children start at Beacon families are required to meet with the headteacher and have a tour around the school to discuss your child's individual needs.  We also contact your child's current school to ensure a successful transition to Beacon.

If you are applying to transfer your children from another Leicestershire school, you will first need to meet with the headteacher at your current school to talk about why you want to move your child.

Admission to Reception Class

Children start in Reception the September after their fourth birthday.

You need to apply between September and January for a place the following September. The deadline is always 15 January.

You can apply via Leicestershire County Council’s website.  You can use the computers at any Leicestershire library to get online.

The County Council’s website gives full and clear advice on the whole process. If you need extra help to complete your application, please contact our  school office and we will be happy to help you.
