Geography

Geography challenges us to ask questions about the planet and the people here. 

In the Early Years, pupils begin to develop their geographical knowledge through the learning area ‘Understanding the World’.  

In  Key Stage 1 and 2 we teach Geography using the Ark Curriculum + program of study.  This is a carefully sequenced, knowledge-rich curriculum, based on the best available research and evidence on what pupils need to know and retain as well as how they learn, memorise and practice what they have learnt.

We want our pupils to develop a strong sense of community and so we plan for pupils to explore their local environment through shared, first hand experiences, including Forest School sessions in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.
