Successful completion of Algebra I or equivalent course. Students entering Foundations of Geometry after completing the Algebra 1 Virtual Course must take a required face-to-face placement test and earn a passing grade in both the virtual course and the placement test.
This course explores various topics in Geometry, including the properties of shapes, perimeter, area, and volume, angles, triangles, similarity, circle theorems, the Pythagorean theorem, right-angle trigonometry and its applications, as well as fundamental concepts in coordinate geometry, probability, and statistics. It also integrates review of previous concepts on equations and systems of equations and the coordinate plane.
A scientific calculator is required for the course.
