• Trash  and sewage: 

  • For an annual fee you can bring your trash(in special bags)/recycling/food waste/textiles/brush/leaves to the town transfer station (where you can also pickup wood chips and during summer there is a swap shop and compost). You also have the option to hire a private company to pick up your trash/recycling.

  • Some streets in Acton have public sewer, but many homes in Acton have a septic system instead.  Find more information on how to care for your septic system here and info on buying/selling a house with septic system here.

Note: you can register at all 3 libraries, you don't need to be a resident to register at a library.  Acton and Boxborough belong to different library networks so might have different availability of specific books.

• Grocery Stores : Acton Asian Market, Donelan's, Idylwilde Farms, Indo-American Convenience Store, Roche Brothers, Shiva's Super Bazaar Acton, Stop n Shop, Trader Joe's.  Apart from Idylwilde, these locations all accept SNAP. The town of Acton offers a bus service to Market Basket in Littleton (which also accepts SNAP),  see here (shopping van).
