Acton Food Pantry

The Acton Food Pantry provides 4 days of dry and fresh food (milk, meat, veggies...), and if available also diapers, wipes, baby food and basic household products.  It is located at 235 Summer Road Boxborough and is open on:  Wednesdays from 10am-7pm  and Thursdays from 9:30-11:30am [closed the 4th week of each month]. Drive-through service. No appointment necessary.  New clients are welcome (registration info here). Reachable by Acton CAT and Boxborough MART bus.   For people who have a transportation barrier there is limited home delivery service available (978) 635-9295.    New clients from both Acton and Boxborough welcome.

Open Table Maynard

Open Table's pantry in Maynard is operating as an open-air drive-thru service. Pre-order fresh food and prepared meals online or by phone or make selections when you arrive. You will remain in your car; volunteers will take your order and load grocery bags into your trunk.  New clients from both Acton and Boxborough welcome.

Tuesdays 1:00 – 3:00pm (Senior 60+ only)

Tuesdays 3:00 – 6:30pm

Thursdays 1:00 – 4:30pm 

Little Free Pantries

The Little Free Pantry is stocked and open to be accessible to anyone at any time.  We give without expectations or strings attached, neighbors helping neighbors.  Available at: West Acton Baptist Church (592 Mass Ave, Acton),  Congregation Beth Elohim (133 Prospect St, Acton - through the parking lot), and United Church of Christ Boxborough (723 Mass Ave, Boxborough), (temporarily) AB Resource Center (15 Charter Rd, Acton).

Stow Food Pantry

In-person shopping 3 times a month at the Pompeo Community Center in Stow by appointment only. New clients from both Acton and Boxborough welcome.   No referral necessary. Call or email to make an appointment. 

Maynard Food Pantry

The Maynard Food Pantry serves residents of Maynard, Acton (not Boxborough), Stow and Sudbury.  Maynard shoppers are welcome to shop two times/month and out-of-town residents are welcome to shop one time monthly. Open Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. Located at 82 Main St, Maynard.

Mt Calvary Community Supper

Every Wednesday evening Mt Calvary Community Supper (472 Massachusetts Ave in Acton with entrance in the rear off Prospect St.) provides a hot meal, restaurant stye,  for all.   Indoor (handicap accessible), sit-down dinner where you can enjoy the company of others. Doors open at 4:15 with the meal starting at 4:30-5:45pm.     

Guest Table Community Dinner

Guest Table at First Parish Church serves a free community dinner on the second Friday of each month. All are welcome—families with children, adults living alone, couples, friends, and seniors. Enjoy a delicious meal at 353 Great Rd in Stow MA. Doors open at 5 PM, dinner is served at 5:30 PM.

Each month they serve 60-100 guests from over 15 towns in the metrowest area. Dinners are nut free, with vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free options. Facility is wheelchair accessible.

Lasagna Love

If you could use a hand with dinner one night in the coming weeks, sign up on their website . Local volunteers are eager to cook a meal to support their neighbors.

WIC (Women, Infants, and Children)

WIC provides nutritional support to purchase healthy food for children under age 5 and pregnant women. Income guidelines apply. Some families are automatically eligible for WIC if they receive TAFDC, SNAP or certain MassHealth plans. 

Massachusetts Healthy Incentives Program (HIP)

NOVEMBER 2025: HIP continues during the delayed SNAP funding as long as you have at least $0.01 on your SNAP card!

The Healthy Incentives Program (HIP) is a Massachusetts program that adds $40-$80 (depending on household size) to your EBT card to buy fruits and vegetables at HIP participating farms, only if you have min $0.01 on your EBT card.

SNAP Benefits 

The Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) administers SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)  benefits, formerly known as Food Stamps. SNAP provides a monthly benefit to buy nutritious foods.  Visit the SNAP Retailer Locator to find locations that accept SNAP.  Acton-Boxborough Farmers Market also accepts SNAP!    Learn more about eligibility requirements, and apply online or contact your Community Resource Coordinator to get help to apply or check if you're eligible. 

Meals on Wheels

Minuteman Senior Services' Meals on Wheels (MOW) program delivers lunch to homebound seniors who are unable to provide their own meals, and who meet certain guidelines. Learn more and inquire on their website, or contact your Community Resource Coordinator to get help to apply.
