Acton Council on Aging (CoA)
The Acton Council on Aging is a Town of Acton Department which offers Acton Town seniors (aged 60 and over) a variety of programs, services, transportation and events at the Senior Center or via zoom. The staff works closely with the Friends or the COA, the COA Board and with a wonderful group of volunteers to offer programs and provide services to all seniors in Town.
The mission of the Council on Aging is to advocate for Acton seniors by enhancing their quality of life and independence through programs and services designed to address their health and economic concerns as well as social and cultural interests.

Boxborough Council on Aging (CoA)
The Boxborough Council on Aging is a Town of Boxborough Department which offers Boxborough Town seniors (aged 60 and over) information and services: monthly newsletter The Buzz, confidential support and referrals, information about home health services, elder law resources etc, subsidize exercise classes, coordinate senior tax work off program, advocate for senior needs, transportation, social activities, health and wellness, referrals for free social service assessments etc.
We have free monthly lunches, entertainment and educational programs, games, day trips and more that are advertised in our monthly newsletter. We also provide information and referrals to seniors in need of services. Minuteman Senior Services
Minuteman Senior Services is a non-profit organization helping older and disabled adults age with independence and dignity in the setting of their choice which is most often their own homes and communities. We have been supporting caregivers, local and long distance, who want to do the right thing for their loved ones and need help and advice as they balance the competing demands of family, work and self.
As a non-profit organization we are passionate about our mission to help you face the challenges of aging and caregiving by offering over 20 programs, helping you make informed decisions and get easy access to the help you need that fits within your means. Many of our services are free of charge, others are available on a sliding fee or private pay basis.

Cooperative Elder Services
Cooperative Elder Services (CESI) is a nonprofit that provides on-site adult day health care. They are located in the same complex as the Acton Council on Aging. Their well-designed space accommodates day participants with licensed on-site nurses as well as staff trained in specialized care for participants with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases and related dementia. Roundtrip transportation is available. Participants engage in recreation activities and enjoy well-balanced meals under the supervision of healthcare professionals, while family caregivers gain respite and support. Seniors can sign-up for a monthly Acton Senior Citizens Newsletter with list of events and activities in Acton and neighboring towns by emailing maxwell.house1@verizon.net.
Serving Health Information Needs of Everyone (SHINE)
Complicated online marketplaces along with annual changes in health insurance and prescription drug coverage leave many Medicare beneficiaries confused and in need of guidance. Minuteman Senior Services staff and volunteer counselors provide free, unbiased health benefits information through community education presentations and individual counseling.
SHINE is a free service available to Medicare beneficiaries through Minuteman Senior Services. State certified counselors provide unbiased answers to Medicare questions. Confidential counseling is available by telephone or Zoom until in person counseling can resume. To make an appointment, call (781) 221-7029.
Free Smoke Alarm Installation
The Acton and Boxborough Fire Departments are working together with the Acton and Boxborough Council on Aging (CoA) to install free battery operated smoke alarms and provide educational materials to eligible seniors to keep them safe from fires in their homes.
