We would like to offer you a tour of the school and the P1 areas prior to your child starting in August with Miss Winchester. This will be particularly helpful for families who are new to Scotstown.  

This tour will take place after the induction presentation on *. IF you are unable to attend this session and would require a tour at another time, please contact the school office via email: scotstown.enquiries@ab-ed.org and we will be able to arrange a mutually convenient time. 

We are delighted to have our P6 children as P1 Buddies this year.  They will plan and deliver transition activities for your child to take part in which will take place in Scotstown's gym hall.  

These sessions are opt in.  If you would like your child to attend, please complete the sign up with your preferred day and time.  If your child already attends our Nursery, you do not need to choose a day as they will go along during their allocated Nursery session day.  Your child will not miss out if they do not attend any of the Buddy sessions.

We would like to invite you to try a school lunch with your child.  Our school cook cooks delicious meals. 

Please select a day that suits you best. 

Further information about school lunches will be issued closer to the time and you will then be able to see the options and order.

Following your child's lunch, your child will have the opportunity to play in the P1 class area for one hour.  This will also be an opportunity for your child to meet their Primary One teacher (if teachers are allocated to classes by then).  Please come to the main office to collect your child at 1.00pm.

There will be the opportunity for your child to meet their new teacher (pupils only) during our stepping up sessions. This will be taking place on:

Children who attend Scotstown school will be taken to this session by Nursery staff. Children attending from other nurseries can be dropped off at the school reception and collected from there at the end.

Your child can complete the optional ‘All About Me booklet’ if they like during the summer holidays and return it to their P1 teacher in August.

We will give your child a paper bag and ask if they can collect items that represent their Summer Holiday – e.g.  bus / train / show tickets or flyers, photographs, postcards of local/holiday towns,  leaflets, etc .  The list is endless and we only ask that you take part in some way, large or small! Your child can also decorate their bag if they wish.

On return to school in August, each child should return the bag and we will spend time discussing and sharing their experiences with the class.
