At Scotstown, we believe every achievement—big or small—deserves to be celebrated! Success comes in many forms, and we make sure to recognise it in lots of different ways across our school community.
From weekly Scotstown Stars at assemblies, to our Gallery of Wider Achievements, and sharing learning through Seesaw, we love shining a spotlight on the effort, progress, and personal milestones that make each child unique.
Celebrating success helps build confidence, encourages resilience, and strengthens the partnership between school and home. Together, we create an environment where every child feels proud of what they can do and inspired to keep growing.
Scotstown Stars
Every week at our school assemblies, we celebrate pupils who shine! Scotstown Stars are awarded by teachers and PSAs to recognise achievements that reflect our school values of Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience.
These awards highlight moments where children have gone above and beyond—whether through kindness, taking responsibility, showing determination, or demonstrating a positive attitude to learning. We love celebrating these successes together and encouraging every child to be a star in their own way!
Sports Stars
At Scotstown, we love celebrating sporting success! Each month, at the final assembly, we award Sports Stars to recognise pupils who have shown effort, skill, and achievement in sports—both in school and beyond. Whether it’s excelling in PE, showing great teamwork, or achieving a personal milestone in a club or competition outside school, these awards highlight the dedication and resilience that link closely to our school values of Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience.
Golden Phone Calls
Once a month, our Senior Leadership Team will make a special Golden Phone Call to celebrate a child who has truly gone above and beyond. These calls recognise exceptional effort, positive attitude, and moments that make us proud. It’s our way of sharing success directly with families and letting children know their hard work and determination really shine.
Celebrating Achievements Beyond the Classroom...
At Scotstown, we believe learning doesn’t stop at the school gates. The skills, talents, determination, and effort your child shows outside of school are just as important—and we want to celebrate them!
We invite parents and carers to nominate their child for a Wider Achievement Star. A star can be awarded for any milestone that matters to your child and family. It might be learning to tie shoelaces, mastering a musical grade, riding a bike without stabilisers, completing a tricky task independently, taking initiative, or showing responsibility. These are just examples—any achievement that makes you proud is worth sharing!
Our Gallery of Stars will be displayed in school, featuring your child’s name and a short description of their achievement.
We can’t wait to hear about the amazing things our Scotstown stars are accomplishing!
