Problem Description:

Most people will use a computer device to connect to the internet at some point, but many of them don't understand the dangers they face in doing so. You have been asked to create an information leaflet that will explain some of these dangers, as well as offer advice on how people can protect themselves.

Your teacher will provide you with the How To Stay Secure Online Worksheet via Google Classroom.

Show your ability to search for, manage and present information by:

• Identifies what information is required in the leaflet
• Collecting the relevant information
• Evaluating your completed leaflet in terms of the information present

Show your understanding of cyber security issues by including information on:

• Each of the three major types of licensing
• At least 3 specific security threats
• A comparison between two different security suites by different developers
• A recommendation on which of the compared security suite is better

Your worksheet and leaflet should be submitted electronically via Google Classroom.

Extension Task

Use the list of computer criminals on Wikipedia to identify a famous computer hacker. Create a short presentation about them. Include the following information:

• Their name and other personal details
• The handle they used, if any
• What they were convicted of, and for how long they were sentenced
• If they have also worked as security consultants
• Any other interesting facts about them
