Creating Your Game

Now you are ready to create your own game using what you have learned over the last few weeks in Scratch. Your teacher will supply you with a Game Design Document on Google Classroom.

Before you start making you game, you must fill in the design document up to and including the section Other Ideas. Show your design document to your teacher before making your game. If you want to draw your character designs, ask your teacher for some paper.

Create your game using Scratch. Fill in the Evaluation section on the design document once you are finished.

Show your ability to design and evaluate by

• Making decisions about the design and elements of a game
• Identifying and correcting errors
• Evaluating your completed game

Show your understanding of computer technology by

• Creating sprites
• Animating sprites by switching costumes
• Moving sprites on their own
• Moving sprites using player input
• Detecting when sprites collide
• Creating a variable and changing its contents

Your worksheet and game should be submitted electronically via Google Classroom.
