Information Management

The Information Management Division (IMD) is the control center for the fire department. Anne Arundel County has expanded its technology and resources over the last several years to support first responders and provide the best customer service to our community members.  IMD supports technology services during preplanning, when a 911 call is placed, while units are responding, when the call for service is being mitigated, and post-incident analysis. In 2023, IMD has:

·       Completed the new Station Alerting System installation in all 31 county and Annapolis City fire stations. 

·       Implementation of a new Record Management System (RMS) and paperless inspection reports. 

·       Worked on CAD to CAD with the National Capital Region to improve our mutual aid responses.

·       Assisted with the Training Academy in upgrading to smart classrooms.

·       Started implementation of a web-based pre-planning application.

·       Continue working on the new radio system that will be launched in April 2024.   

·       Continued to provide data and technology support to the department.  

·       Online hydrant and underground drafting repair reporter deployed.

·       GIS specialist position upgraded to Program Manager.
