Lisa Mayers (Ret.)
Deputy Chief - Planning
I want to introduce the Planning Section of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department 2023 Annual Report. The Planning Section oversees the department's Training, Information & Technology, and Health & Safety sections. As you will see, we had many initiatives and achievements in 2023 that directly support the overall mission of the fire department.
The Training Academy welcomed Recruit Class 63 at the beginning of the year and celebrated their hard work and accomplishments at their graduation in November of 2023. Each of them is now applying the firefighting and medical training they have taught and tested to assist community members in our county.
The Information & Technology section developed and launched the first-ever public-facing dashboard on the county's website at www.aacounty.org/fire this past year. Additionally, they have upgraded many of our software programs to make the day-to-day tasks easier for all who work at the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
Lastly, our Health & Safety section showcased the app's value, released in 2022. The app allows department employees access to all the latest health and safety information via their cell phones while discretely obtaining peer fitness or peer support advice directly. Additionally, this application is accessible to employees' family members as well.
These are only a few of the highlights of 2023. I invite you to click on each section to learn more about each area of Planning in the Anne Arundel County Fire Department
On the 1st of February, 2024, Deputy Chief Lisa Mayers retired from the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
