Division Chief - Operations Support
The Operations Support Division provides support for 31 fire stations, 911 sworn uniformed personnel, and 60+ civilian employees. We created 1,899 purchase orders and made 3,670 credit card purchases totaling just shy of 10 million dollars to support Operations and the mission of the Fire Department.
Services include:
Procurement, receiving, warehousing, issuance/delivery of all uniforms, personal protective equipment, medical supplies, office and janitorial supplies, tools, and equipment.
Implemented an internet-based footwear portal with Saf-Gard to enhance personal choice and options for all personnel.
Completed a total collection and replacement of all department-wide oxygen cylinders due to a change in contracted vendors.
Outfitted RC63 at Logistics with uniforms and PPE, hosted CPAT for RC64, and are preparing to issue their uniforms and PPE.
Completed Turnout Gear material testing.
Coordinating all repair and remodels (kitchen, bath, engine bays) for 22 county-owned fire stations, 5 support and admin facilities, and generator and exhaust removal system service for 9 volunteer-owned stations.

Approving specifications for all apparatus purchases (county and volunteer) and coordinating the purchase of all county-owned vehicles.

Coordinating all service for the department’s front-line and reserve fleets (county- and volunteer-owned), which includes:
63 engines and pumper-tankers
17 trucks, quints, and towers
55 ambulances and medic units
9 rescue squads

16 brush trucks
7 specialty vehicles (mobile ambulance bus, mobile command and control unit, technical rescue pod hauler, dive unit, air wagon, coffee wagon)

Maintenance and repair of breathing apparatus, breathing air compressors, and cascade systems, including air quality testing and filling of cylinders and cascades.
Placed MX4 and Tango gas meter docking stations in service at strategic stations.
Continued to pilot (in conjunction with IMD) Bluetooth connection between MSA G1 facepiece and portable radio for clearer radio communications in IDLH.
Maintenance and repair of all firefighting equipment including nozzles & valves, lighting equipment, rescue tools, powered saws, and positive-pressure ventilation fans.
o Continued upgrade of 9 Lucas devices to the Lucas 3.
o Completed first Countywide annual maintenance and repair of all biomedical equipment including cardiac monitors, Lucas devices, stretchers, and Power-Load systems.
o Added new battery-powered Holmatro equipment to TW30 & TK31.
o Added Seek Imagers to stations 4, 23, 26, 29, 40.
