Mid Point Web Portfolio
To reflect on your progress and learning since the beginning of the semester;
To showcase and share your work
Student Examples (more on Fall '09 Art Fundamentals site):
Your start page should include your first name, Art Fundamentals Art Portfolio, Fall 2010; write a brief artist statement that addresses the following (at least 4 sentences) -
what are your specific interests in regards to art?
what do you know about art at this point?
why did you take this class?
what are a few things you hope to do better as a result of taking this class?
(if you look at exemplars you will see both their brief artist statement and end of the semester statement, which you will do later. For now just do the artist statement)
Optional: Include a Table of Contents (this will be a helpful organizational tool for both this class and for possible future art classes)
In Class Assignments:
Using a separate page for each project, include the four in-class projects we have done so far:
Principles of Art Squares (four cut paper square designs)
3-D Clay Sculpture
Negative Space Painting
Portrait Value Paintings
Label each project and write a paragraph that includes both the purpose and what you learned from assignment along with the artists studied.
Include the following sketchbook assignments: Pre-instructional Drawings, Pos/Neg Design (cut paper), Islamic Art Design, Copy Drawing, and Logo Design
Title each sketchbook assignment (be sure to indicate that they are sketchbook assignments), briefly explain the purpose and what you learned from doing the assignment.
