SOLETO 2025 is here.
Step into the dynamic world of experimental and behavioral economics, where economics meets psychology, neuroscience, statistics, and computer science to unravel the complexities of human behavior. This isn’t just a summer school — it’s a cross-disciplinary journey into how decisions are made.
We welcome up to graduate students and researchers from any field who are curious about using experimental and/or behavioral methods to explore economic questions and human behavior. Set in the charming historic town of Soleto, this experience brings together up to 80 passionate students for an engaging exchange with 50 leading scholars in the field.
Save the dates: July 19th (from 6 pm) to 24th (included, until 10 pm) for an immersive 6-day of lectures, workshops, and dialogue.
Master students, PhD students, and Postdocs attending the summer school in the morning will present their research during the daily workshop in the afternoon, capped off with a series of (evening & night) social events that are as fun as they are inspiring.
Who is it for?
Undergraduate students: up to a maximum of 10 students interested in exploring topics in behavioral and experimental economics. Admission will be on a competitive basis.
Master’s students: Get a head start on your research path. You’ll learn the fundamentals of experimental, behavioral, and “experimetrics” approaches through a hands-on curriculum. From finance and development to game theory and environmental economics, we’ll dive into how behavioral tools shape real-world questions.
PhDs and postdocs: Are you already doing research in this space? Deepen your knowledge through advanced discussions, interdisciplinary tools, and personalized feedback. The workshop is your chance to present and refine your ideas in a supportive, expert environment.
You’ll also benefit from one-on-one mentoring with senior researchers, keynote speakers, and an inspiring group of peers — perfect for building collaborations and pushing your thinking forward.
As a bonus, participants can submit their research to one of three special issues in two partner journals.
Explore the edges of behavioral and experimental economics with us this summer — full of ideas, community, and discovery.
Keynote Speakers include Pierpaolo Battigalli, Pablo Branas, Gabriele Camera, Alessandra Cassar, Daniela Di Cagno, Catherine Eckel, Massimo Egidi, Daniela Grieco, Gianluca Grimalda, Praveen Kujal, Volodymyr Lugovskyy, Peter Moffatt, Rosemarie Nagel, Theo Offerman, Miklós Pinter, Alessandro Previtero, Daniela Puzzello, Sigrid Suetens, Angela Sutan, and Jeroen Van de Veen.
