Groceries. All of the grocery stores are closed on Sunday.
In Soleto, as throughout southern Italy, it is hot during summer. This can be a source of discomfort, especially for those not used to it, but some simple tips can help. Most rooms and houses have air conditioning or a fan to fight the heat at night. However, caution must be used during the day and when moving around.
Bring sunscreen with you or purchase it locally (at least 30+) and a hat.
Wear light, loose-fitting clothes, preferably natural fibers, to better absorb sweat and allow the skin to breathe.
Make sure you always have water on hand and drink plenty.
Take showers with lukewarm water, and bathe your face and arms with cool water. In very high temperatures, place a wet cloth on the back of the neck.
You may want to buy a small portable fan to keep you cool.
Participate in all the activities, such as the pool and the sea, to stay cool.
Warning. It is not advisable to fill water bottles and flasks from the tap. There are numerous drinking fountains in Soleto, and in Largo Genova, there is the "Water House." You can bring your flasks and fill them up for 0.05 € per lt. There is both sparkling and natural water.
