Results and Conclusions

Results

    • No clear trend was found between sample thickness and intensity of SPR or angle at which SPR occurs

    • More data is necessary to refine the results and determine a relationship

    • 50 nm was the optimal thickness; it had the most intense SPR and the most consistent, repeatable resonance.

Conclusions

We concluded that 50 nm is the optimal thickness for resonance to occur as the most consistent, repeatable, and intense resonance came from our 50 nm sample. This confirms results from previous MXP groups and current literature. More data is needed to define the relationship between sample thickness, SPR intensity, and angle of resonance.
