Single Photon Quantum Interference Lab

Read this before touching anything.

A little bit of theory not only focused on the physics behind this experiment, but on the experimental setup itself.

This link contains information about the equipment utilized in this experiment.

The computer interface reads the pulses from the SPCMs, processes the information, and then transmits if to a LabView program.

Here you will find a step-by-step procedure that will come in handy when setting up the SPQI experiment.

Experiments:

The experiments closely follow those published by: B. J. Pearson and D. P. Jackson, "A hands-on introduction to single photons and quantum mechanics for undergraduates," Am. J. Phys. 78 471 (2010).

This experiment closely follows the experiment published by J. A. Carlson, M. D. Olmstead, and M. Beck, “Quantum mysteries tested: An experiment implementing Hardy’s test of local realism,” Am. J. Phys., 74, (3), 180-186 (2006).
